INFORMATION

SEASONS

KUSI

Mid May - October (South East Trade Winds). This is when we expect the rains to come and the roughest sea conditions. Average temperatures of 26°c with a strong south-easterly wind. The days are warm with cool evenings. Snorkelling conditions are not ideal but it’s an excellent time of year for sailing and windsurfing. Motorised watersports and deep-sea fishing operate on a flexible basis an the lodge may close for short periods during this time.

MATALAI

November - Mid December (Change of the Trade Winds). Average temperatures of 28-30°c with very light winds and calm seas. The days are hot with warm nights. The short rains are expected this time of year but showers are usually sharp and short. The sea clears up making snorkelling possible again. This is also a prime time for inshore fishing in the skiffs as well as a great time for sailfish for the deep sea enthusiasts.

KASKAZI

Mid December - End of March (North East Trade Winds). Average temperatures of 30 - 32°c with strong winds in the afternoon and choppy seas. This makes it perfect for snorkelling, windsurfing & sailing. Fabulous for watersports in the protection of the creek beside the lodge.
