NOVEMBER - APRIL - KASKASI Monsoon

This is the calmest and clearest time of year for all activities and snorkelling. From late December through to end of February the wind picks up from the North East , called the Kaskazi and can blow for 4-5 days strongly, normally on the springtimes ( full and new moon). The Sea temperatures average 27Deg. C

May- October - KUSI monsoon

This is the cooler months and we expect a few rain showers during this time. The wind blows strongly from the South East , called the Kusi, and the water is cooler and the conditions rougher. the water tends to have a lot of sediment blowing up from the Tana river which make snorkelling unfeasible. The sea temperature averages 25Deg. C

WATERSPORTS & FISHING CENTRE

This can be arranged with the management of the lodge.

HOW TO GET HERE

Commercial Airlines: operate out of Nairobi, Mombasa and Malindi into Lamu. Airlines travelling to Lamu include Safarilink, Fly 540, Skyward Express and EastAfrican.

Private Charters: Manda Bay has its own private airstrip where private charters can land. The airstrip is less than a 5 minute drive to the lodge.

Whether you arrive commercial or private, Manda Bay will meet you and transport you to the lodge. Commercial and private charter flights can be organised by our reservations team in the Safari & Conservation Company office in Nairobi. Please use the contact details below:
