Manda shop

The Manda shop is now complete!

The shop is a light and spacious room with air conditioning and a nice changing room. It is stocked with local crafts from all over East Africa ranging from large wrought iron sculptures to delicate beaded slippers. We stock beautiful jewelery made from precious and semi-precious stones from all over Africa. The pieces are deftly designed with antique silver from Yemen and North Africa and make a very unusual purchase. We also have traditional beaded jewelery made from the bright vibrant colours that are favoured by the Maasai.

The shop's shelves are full of locally woven 'kikoys' (beach wraps) with a mixture of every colour under the sun. You will soon realise that your holiday is not complete without one! We have an in-house tailor who can measure you up for a 'kikoy' dressing gown like the ones supplied in your room or a pair of comfortable shorts or trousers.

Manda sells its own t-shirts and polo-shirts with the Blue Fin Trevally logo on the front. We also have caps and fleeces! There is a large selection of beautiful clothing from suede jackets to light cotton pyjamas.

For those guests looking for a life time momento, we have some evocative oil paintings depicting serene scenes of coastal waters done by a local artist living in Nairobi.

Lamu has been long known for its carved furniture, and we stock smaller items to demonstrate their abilities of this ancient craft.
