Carmine Bee-eater Spectacle

BIRD WATCHERS PARADISE

Every year the Northern Carmine Bee-eaters migrate southwards  from Ethiopia and spend the summer months( November- May)  towards the equator shortly after breeding. Still in full breeding plumage, these birds gather in their thousands to roost at night.  The brilliant colours of these birds and the close proximity in which we can view them from a boat makes this a truly spectacular site. The mangrove island is host to many other varieties of birds such as the Madagascan Bee-eater,  Sacred Ibis, Doves, Pied Kingfisher, Comorants and Pelicans.

Manda Island is a bird watchers haven with the many water and seabirds, and a woodland full of unusual birds including the Kenya crested guinea fowl.
