Deep Sea Fishing | Fly fishing |
Fly-fishing at Manda has become Immensely popular. The Creek beside the lodge harbours Tarpon and other surface feeders which will come to the fly. We have fibreglass skiffs ideal for quietly pottering up the Creek or you may choose some really exciting fly-fishing in the bay sorrounding the lodge where Yellow-tailed Trevally, Five fingered Jacks and Long-tailed Tuna can be found feeding on Sardine bait-balls. The feeding frenzy nearly always results in a twenty minute battle between angler and fish averaging about ten pounds. The more intrepid fly-fisherman may like to try going outside the reef in a skiff to cast for Dorado and Giant Trevally. One step further would be to charter the deepsea fishing boat, "Cheza" and cast your rod for Sailfish, Marlin and Dorado. The crew have become increasingly experienced with this relatively new sport and their enthusiasm is infectious. Guests are encouraged to come with their own equipment although Manda does provide a selection of fly rods and flies and we will be stocking a limited amount of replacement kit in our shop. |
